Deciding if You Should Pivot or Not: How Pivoting Your Business Can Bring God Glory | Ep 116

We’ve all been there. You’re on one path that you feel like you’ve been called to do and then as you’re on that path, you feel led to go down a different path.
And here’s where the hard part comes. What do you do in that moment when you feel led to go a different direction? 
It’s so easy to dismiss it and say it’s a distraction from the original direction God was leading you down. It’s also easy to start the whole mindset drama where you’re asking “Is it really God or is it the enemy or is it just what I want to do?”
All of these are valid questions and definitely things you should pray about in a situation like that. 
But I want to encourage you to also think about an alternative. What if this is exactly where God is leading you and He wants you to go on this journey because it’ll ultimately lead to Him getting the glory in a way that you can’t even imagine?
Today on the podcast, you’ll get encouragement for how to approach it when you feel like you’re wanting to pivot (again) and you’re not sure what to think about it.

Lana serves as Transform Iran’s Chief Executive Officer (USA) . In this role, Lana actively seeks to bring freedom to the people of Iran, transforming the nation into one which bears the image of Christ. Through ministry and humanitarian aid, Lana hopes that Transform Iran will create divine change in the lives of the Iranian people.
 
Lana was born and raised in Iran before emigrating to the UK where she completed her education at Imperial College, London, gaining an honors degree in Computer Engineering. Her postgraduate studies in Marketing Communication Strategy led her to a career in services marketing, before specializing in branding and fundraising, where she consulted for several years, particularly for the nonprofit sector.
 
With over 20 years of marketing experience across all media, Lana has a passion for seeing small businesses and startups gain their voice in a competitive environment. Lana has also worked as a church minister, worship leader and most recently a college chaplain, where she took further postgraduate studies in working with youth, with a focus on mental health and safeguarding. She is tri-lingual and considers it her life calling to represent and advocate for the people of Iran in the West. 
 
Lana currently lives with her husband and three children in Ohio, USA, actively operating Transform Iran’s mission.

Did you hear God wrong? Encouragement when business isn’t going as planned | Ep 112

If things aren’t going well in your business, it can be easy to start questioning if you heard God right in the first place. Did He really call you to start a business? If He did, wouldn’t it be working by now? 
But in reality, this isn’t how things work. Just because God calls us to do something doesn’t mean the path there is smooth sailing.

In our world today, we are so quick to dismiss certain skills/interests as not being valuable. If it doesn’t make money or couldn’t help somehow down the line, then we put these interests in the “childish” behavior or into the “hobbies” bucket. Why do we do that though?
